I was born in Montreal, but I made the long trek across country with my parents and our cat Puffball in a green Volkswagen Beetle at the tender age of 3 months. I do consider myself a true Edmontonian however as I have lived here ever since. I currently live in the city with my husband Sean and our two “fur-babies” Ace and Samba. Although we do not have any children of our own I love all children and I’ve been told by my nieces, nephews, and goddaughter that I’m a pretty good Auntie!
Prior to beginning my real estate career, I was a retail manager for one of Canada’s largest big box retailers. After spending nearly 15 years in management I decided a career change was in order. Never being a sit down at a desk person I knew I’d need a career that would keep me challenged and still doing what I loved the most…working with people. Working in residential real estate has been more rewarding in that aspect than I could have imagined. I have the opportunity to educate my clients and feel truly fulfilled when I know my people have made an educated choice on their home.
What got me interested in real estate was when we bought our first home. I felt so overwhelmed and out of my element. It really seemed to me that everyone was treating it like it should all be common sense and not a big deal but I was a nervous wreck! Now, I love being able to share the knowledge and experience I have gained with my clients as I help them navigate through their real estate transactions. It doesn’t mean all of the nervousness goes away but I want people to know they’ve got someone to lean on and guide them through the process. Everyone has a different story and I truly enjoy getting to know my people. Each day is different, brings a new set of challenges and I am constantly learning. It’s like solving a puzzle and together we have all the pieces necessary to produce the big picture, your dreams plus my experience. There is definitely no such thing as “one-size-fits-all” when it comes to people and real estate.
A personal note:
Why share this…because it means so much to me. I used to be very overweight. After losing 55 lbs and being able to keep most of that off for the past 5 years it is still a big focus in my life. I will always be one of those people who struggle with my weight but I know it can be controlled. This was such a huge accomplishment for me and I share it with others in hopes that I can inspire them not only to stay healthy but to go ahead and strive for whatever it is you want in life. It’s not easy and there are lots of ups and downs but anything is possible. If you believe it will happen.
I Liv for:
Life…but to narrow it down a bit more first would be my family, friends, and dogs. Working out is a huge passion. I need to keep it interesting though so I’m always trying new things like TRX and Kettle Bells. I also love to cook, dance, walk the dogs, fly fish with my Dad, sit and have coffee with my Mum, camp, travel, and read. I love self-improvement books and inspirational stories. One of my favorite authors is Robin Sharma but one of my favorite books is “The Go-Giver” by Bob Burg and John David Mann. It’s a short read but I find myself returning to read it again whenever I need to be “grounded”. I also have a huge love of learning and I’m always willing to try something new.
