Born and raised in Edmonton, I am very passionate about the opportunities afforded in this gorgeous City and the surrounding areas. ‘Home’ for me, specifically growing up, was spent on the south side of the City; as someone with a healthy curiosity for my surroundings, I have witnessed the development and transition of my Communities over my lifetime. About 10 years ago now, I moved ‘East’ with my family to Sherwood Park; a beautiful hamlet next to the City. I have 2 children, a son and daughter, both very active kids, that excel in soccer and hockey. With life always on-the-go, Sherwood Park has been a welcome backdrop for our family to get involved with community and recreational activities close to home.
Despite having always had Edmonton as my home base, I have been around the world and back and had some very unique travel experiences thus far. Some of the colourful places that I have travelled to and that were worth writing home about, included: Russia, London England and a once-in-a-lifetime backpacking trip across Mexico. Seeing Mexico, one small little rural town at a time, with nothing more than a backpack, was such an unforgettable way of experiencing the local culture; it’s a trip that I will never forget as long as I live!
I am a proud graduate of NAIT and I have spent 15 years working as a Student Advisor at the University of Alberta. I feel as though my transition into Residential Real Estate has been such an organic evolution for me as I have alway had such a ‘helping side’ to my personality. I cherished my years at the University of Alberta, as it is a place that fosters such a positive learning environment. I especially loved building relationships with the students that I worked with, gaining their trust and providing them with the necessary information to help them make the right choices for their future. Many of these same skills, have been easily transferrable to the world of Real Estate. Before making one of the biggest purchases of someone’s life, people need to trust those ‘guiding’ them, the process and know the facts; I’m happy to facilitate this.
Real Estate is so much more than just ‘the home’. As someone with active kids, I know that your surroundings are equally important in developing your family’s growth. Who at the end of the day, doesn’t strive to live in a peaceful place that is safe for their family and encourages all of us to be positive contributors to our community and neighbours. Edmonton and the surrounding Area(s) is such a beautiful place to live; everyone is so friendly and we make great efforts to embrace each Season. If you are new to this wonderful City or have proudly spent your life here and grown with the City, as I have, I’m happy to get to know you, build a relationship with you and show you how truly wonderful this unique place can be for you and your family!
I Liv for: friends, family and travel!
What would you do if you won the lottery?
I would first take my friends and family on a trip somewhere hot and sunny, and then travel the world and volunteer – teach English, work in an orphanage, build water wells etc.
What did you get into trouble for the most as a child?
I never got in trouble – I was the youngest so I was able to get away with a lot!
What’s your favourite restaurant in Edmonton?
Rosso – they make the best, authentic, thin crust pizza
What’s the best vacation you’ve ever taken?
The best vacation I’ve taken was backpacking in Mexico. Flying into Mexico City was amazing! The city is so big and it just seemed to go on forever. We traveled by bus to Acapulco, Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa. It was really humbling to experience how the locals lived and experience the culture. I would love to go back and experience more.
If you could shop for free forever at any store, what store would it be?
Staples lol! I have a slight addiction to pretty pens and colorful post-it notes!
What’s your favourite quote?
If you can dream it, you can achieve it! – Zig Ziglar. I truly believe that we can do anything we set our minds to and it’s something that I try to instill in my kids.
If you only had 24 hours to live, what would you do?
Hop on a flight to Disney Land with my kids and eat all my favorite foods foods for dinner – steak, french fries, ice cream, corn on the cob.
If you could trade places with any famous person, living or dead, who would it be, and what would you do differently?
Tina Turner! She is an amazingly strong and courageous woman and has faced adversity in her life. But she’s also an amazing performer and singer. Her concert was the first one I ever went to, and I still remember it.
