I started my own business when I was just 19 years old. It was a huge endeavour to take on, and I kept it going for 17 years. During this time, I learned the importance of caring about my clients and listening to their needs; I was thorough and aimed to please them. A happy client was the ultimate goal and is also my goal in real estate.

Before becoming a real estate agent, I was an Executive Assistant at a real estate brokerage; this allowed me to see the importance and value of client care, accuracy in all paperwork, and respecting and fulfilling deadlines. Alleviating my client's stress is a skill I have perfected over many years.

What would you do if you won the lottery?
I need to start this answer with a story. When I was a single mother, even though I had a thriving business, Christmas was still a stressful time of the year. I was standing shoulder to shoulder with last-minute shoppers a few days before Christmas at Walmart when I felt a tap on my shoulder. A woman handed me a $100 Walmart gift card and said, "Merry Christmas," and she was gone before I could even open my mouth; I was stunned!! That gesture really hit me. From that moment, I vowed that if I ever won the lottery or were in a position to do that for others, I would hand out money randomly to strangers. The woman at the grocery store, the man at the gas station, filling up his vehicle, the young student who's working nights, the waitress who had a fantastic smile and great attitude… There would be so much joy in that!
