Ben Rau

I enjoy getting to know people and believe positive relationships, even brief ones, are one of the keys to a successful life. A lot of who we are is defined by what we’ve done and where we’ve been. I’ve had the pleasure of living many of my dreams and travelling to all sorts of wonderful places. It’s been an incredible experience sharing life and getting to know people from one end of the globe to the other. Now in Edmonton, it's been a lot of fun integrating myself into this city and continuing my journey in the place where I now call home.

Full Bio

I grew up in the foothills of Cochrane, Alberta, nestled between the beautiful Rocky Mountains and the bustling metropolis of Calgary, with an amazing family and loving, hard-working parents.

I’ve always wanted to right the wrongs of this world, serve people in the hardest of times, and be a lighthouse to those around me. I knew any job or path I’d choose had to provide me with these core foundations. I started my occupational journey framing houses but longed for more. In 2007 one of my dreams became a reality when I joined the Canadian military and served in a unit called “1st Battalion Princess Patricias Canadian Light Infantry” or PPCLI for short until 2013.

During my federal service, I was lucky enough to visit Europe, Australia, the Middle East and the United States. Through this chapter, I found myself living in Edmonton, where I met my wife, Julia. She is a true diamond (tough, sharp, beautiful and one of a kind). She is the light of my life, and now, the light of my professional life as we work together at Liv Real Estate®.
