Living downtown provides tremendous benefits, a major one being that you will enjoy exceptional convenience. The City Centre maintains one of Calgary's highest concentration vendors for essential items, such as grocery stores, pharmacies, clinics, barbers and beauty salons, and retail stores ranging from thrift stores to upscale boutiques. You will be within walking distance of everything, and it is possible to live in the area without needing a vehicle.
As Calgary's second most walkable neighbourhood, the Commercial Core also boasts a high concentration of restaurants.

The city-famous Stephen Avenue Walk is found within the community and serves as one of Calgary's main entertainment districts, along with 17th Avenue, which is within walking distance. You will have several options for yoga and fitness studios, gyms, and fitness classes. Calgary's City Centre is also home to most of its tourist attractions, from the Calgary Tower to the Olympic Plaza, Studio Bell, and many more!
Parks, Trails & Green Spaces
One of the best things about living in Calgary is that there is incredible natural beauty found everywhere, and the downtown core is no exception! You will be treated to riverside seating, vantage points, and paved walkways for bike rides, rollerblading and jogging.
Several of the city's most beloved parks, including Prince's Island Park, are found downtown. The picturesque venue is an oasis, comprising an impressive 20 hectares of green spaces surrounded by mature trees, picnic areas, flower gardens, and a playground! Eau Claire Park offers a riverfront park close to the shopping district, which is always lively and busy with family-friendly activities. Your dog will never be left out of the fun, with several off-leash dog areas found throughout the area.
