The Area

Although the land for the community was annexed in 1961, it was not established until 1982. Today, Millrise spans 1.8 square kilometres of land suited for the full range of property types. If you require more space, there are detached single-family homes with attached garages and space for front and backyards.

There are also attached options, such as duplexes with attached front garages and split and single-tiered bungalows. First-time buyers will have options for affordable low-rise apartments with new renovations, with a handful of condominiums.

With Millcrest and Millrise Parks within the community, you will have multiple options for modern play spaces with seating areas. Fish Creek Park lies at your front doorstep; you are treated to over 100 kilometres of paved and unpaved trails, suitable for family walks, hikes, rollerblading, and viewing the local wildlife. Education 

For elementary, Our Lady Peace School is a Catholic institution that accommodates students from kindergarten to grade twelve.

In Shawnessy nearby, Janet Johnstone School accepts students from kindergarten to grade four, with an early French immersion program, with Evergreen School as an alternative for kindergarten to grade five.

Samuel W. Shaw School serves students between grades five to nine, located in Shawnessy, with Marshall Springs School as an alternative from grades four to nine, located in Evergreen.

Centennial High School, located in Lake Sundance, offers Advanced Placement university courses, dual credit programs, off-campus work experience, and athletic programs and clubs.

Transportation & Accessibility 

Two bus lines yield a 30-minute commute as far north as Manchester, east as Sundance, and west as Evergreen. The community is within five minutes of Shawnessy LRT Station, which runs on the city's north-to-southbound Red Line.

Millrise is easily found via Macleod Trail via, James McKevitt Road and Shawnessy Boulevard. Macleod offers direct access to the downtown core and Crowchild Trail SW for access to major work centres in the northwest.
