The Unique Design of Cranston

Cranston's design uses as little space as possible. Instead of cramming as many homes into the area as they can, the community is spaced out appropriately so that every house has the space to enjoy the many green areas built in between. There are two schools built in the very centre of the community and a main road circles around them, with residential streets spiraling off of it. This design cuts down on traffic significantly because only people living on any given street will have a reason to drive there, with all through traffic handled by the large roundabout in the middle.

Open Space and Recreation

One of the greatest aspects to Cranston is the sheer abundance of recreational opportunities. Locals can take advantage of the many parks and open green spaces, spend the day on Bow River or hike through Fish Creek Provincial Park. They can take in a round of golf at Blue Devil or spend some time at Century Hall, the community's private recreation facility that offers tennis courts, a hockey rink and waterpark. The area also has a large market with shops, banks, restaurants and healthcare facilities so that locals can find everything they need just down the street.
