When you ask people pertinent questions about where they hope to live, most people break down the City by school zones, proximity to work or a desired lifestyle. Since moving to Edmonton from Stony Plain after high school, I have been navigating the City based on which curling rink my desired location was close to! I put countless hours into training on the ice and worked hard to put myself through school to earn my Business degree and CPA designation. After University, I quickly worked my way up the corporate ladder from Accounting Assistant to Controller. I excelled at my corporate jobs, but at the end of the day, I didn't feel as though I was making a real difference in people's lives, and I started to explore other ways to put my talents to good use.

I was exposed to the wonderful world of Real Estate at a young age watching my parents buy, renovate, and flip the homes we lived in. I didn't always enjoy living in a construction zone and moving every few years, but I learned a lot about building and renovating homes. In 2011, I purchased my first property, and that's when my passion for Residential Real Estate really took off. I thought I was prepared for the home buying experience, having watched my parents do it successfully so many times themselves, but I soon discovered that I had a lot to learn. My parents were not so thrilled with my plan to rent a portion of my potential new property as they feared all the things that could go wrong with tenants. However, my business background and analytical nature gave me the assurance to know that owning a rental property could be a lucrative venture if done wisely and therefore was worth the risk.
