The Area

Contained in an area of 0.5 km, Greenview is positioned between Huntington Hills Thorncliffe and Highland Park. This northeast community was established in 1991, and as such, you will find a balanced mixture of dwellings, from classic Canadian prairie-style bungalows to newer condominiums and duplexes.

In Greenview, you will be treated to some excellent options for green spaces. Laycock Park offers 27 acres of open grass, baseball diamonds, trails, and benches. The Nose Creek Pathway runs adjacent to a beautiful stream providing peaceful, calming views at any time of the day.

In Laycock Park, you will also find several fully equipped playgrounds that your children will love, with ample seating for you! Your dog will not be left out of the activities with the Thorncliff Off Leash Dog Park north of Laycock Park.

Education 

Residents of Greenview will have several options for schools within the surrounding area. There is Buchanan School and Thorncliffe School, which teaches kindergarten to grade six, Sir John A. Macdonald School, and Georges P. Vanier School, which accommodates grades seven to nine, with Vanier offering French Immersion. 

For High School, there is James Fowler High School which offers Advanced Placement courses, dual credit, and off-campus work experience. As an alternative, John G. Diefenbaker High School offers the International Baccalaureate Program, dual credit, and off-campus work experience.

Transportation & Accessibility 

One bus line operates within Greenview, allowing for a 30-minute commute to as far north as Beddington Heights, east as Whitehorn, south as Mission, and west as the University of Calgary. 

Greenview’s central position in the northwest makes it highly accessible to major work centres throughout the city, via Centre Street N, Deerfoot trail, and Edmonton Trail, McKnight Boulevard NW.
