Emerald Hills is one of the few neighbourhoods that has a leisure centre and sports complex located within. The Emerald Hills Leisure Centre features a 6-lane 25-meter lap pool, a 4-lane 25-meter warm pool, a kids pool, a whirlpool, and a steam room.

The community is full of parks, greenspace, stormwater ponds, and trails. Emerald Hills Regional Park is one of the neighbourhood’s most popular parks. Residents can spend time enjoying the outdoors, having picnics, and enjoying the scenery of the large pond. For sports enthusiasts, there are also two ball diamonds, a soccer field, a sports pavilion with an artificial turf football field, and a skating loop during the winter season.

Other parks in close proximity are Abbey Park and Eton Park. These parks feature playgrounds for younger children and additional trails. Within walking distance, you’ll find Centennial Park and the Millennium Place Outdoor Fields. Here you can take advantage of picnic areas and shelters, firepits, and baseball and softball diamonds.

Emerald Hills is served by the Elk Island Public School District, as well as the Elk Island Catholic School District.

Archbishop Jordan Catholic High School is the only school located directly in Emerald Hills. Other schools located very close by are Davidson Creek Elementary School, Holy Spirit Catholic School, Lakeland Ridge School, Glen Allan Elementary School, FR Haythorne Jr. High School, Bev Facey Community High School, Clover Bar Junior High School and Salisbury Composite High School.
