The Area

Annexed in 1911, Parkdale has experienced several evolutions since its beginnings as a settlement community for soldiers returning from World Wars I and II. The community was a major beneficiary of Calgary's oil-boom periods and various redevelopment plans.

Parkdale is served by two public schools within the area. University School offers kindergarten to grade six and is located in University Heights. Queen Elizabeth High School is located in Upper Hillhurst and offers Advanced Placement courses, dual credit programs, and career-specific, off-campus work experience.

The prestigious Rundle College, Foothills Academy and Clear Water Academy are also within the area for private school options. Each school has excellent facilities, small and specialized class sizes to foster engagement and participation, and privately recruited instructors.

Parkdale is also perfect placed minutes away from the University of Calgary, Mount Royal University, and SAIT.

Transportation & Accessibility 

Six main bus lines provide city-wide access within 30 minutes. You can expect a commute as far north as the University of Calgary, east as the Downtown Core, south as Lincoln Park, and west as Bowness within the time frame. 

Parkdale is accessible via Parkdale Boulevard NW, which offers a direct route to the downtown core via Memorial Drive. Parkdale Boulevard also leads to Crowchild Trail, a viable alternative to major work centres in north and south Calgary.
