Two public schools serve Point McKay; University School, from kindergarten to grade six, and Queen Elizabeth High School, from grades seven until twelve. Queen Elizabeth offers Advance Placement courses, dual credit, and off-campus work experience.

Transportation & Accessibility 

For the avid cyclists of Point McKay, the Bow River Pathway provides riverside views and a direct, 30-minute route to the downtown core. 

There are three bus routes that operate within the community, allowing for a 30-minute commute to as far north as the University of Calgary, west as Hillhurst, south as Rosscarrock, and west as Bowness.

A commute to the downtown core is within 15 minutes via Parkdale Boulevard and Memorial Drive NW or Bow Trail SW. The Trans-Canada lies immediately west of the community for a quick whisk to the Canmore, Lake Louise, and the Rocky Mountains!
