Southview, East Calgary Real Estate Information
Southview is a residential community in a great location. It may be small, but being close to downtown and located right off the river and 17 Ave provides great views and shopping. City Centre and Bow River are on the west border, Albert Park - Radisson Heights is to the north, Forest Lawn is to the east and Dover is located to the south.
A Small Community with Great Homes
Southview is a small neighbourhood on Bow River and close to Downtown Calgary, which has made it a very desirable location to buy a home and raise a family. Because of the demand, there are always very few houses on the market at any given time.
The real estate situation is almost entirely single-family detached houses. There are a small handful of townhouses as well, but most of the housing is made up of bungalows built in the 1950s when Southview was established.
A Look at Southview's Amenities
Southview may be small, but it's not without its share of amenities. The northern border is along 17 Ave, one of the liveliest commercial streets in the entire city. Along with local shops and retailers, this area has many places to grab a meal, from fast food options to local ethnic hotspots to more traditional places like the popular Big Al's Bar & Grill and Pacific Hut Restaurant.
One of the standouts to the community is the Inglewood Golf & Curling Club, a large course that is settled between two bodies of water and is a great way for locals to get out and enjoy the outdoors in their own backyard.
Southview is a hard place to find a new home. You have to strike immediately or risk losing out on what could be one of the few homes to be put up for sale that year.
