Established in 1976, Abbeydale is a relatively newer community in the city. Abbeydale is contained within a land area of 1.7 square kilometres, dominated by various kinds of single-family detached homes. There is a smaller proportion of multi-family dwellings. For secondary school, Forest Lawn High School offers the Advanced Placement Program, dual credit programs, and off-campus work experience.

Transportation & Accessibility 

With Stoney Trail as Abbeydale's eastern boundary, you will enjoy easy and immediate access for north and southbound travel. For a direct route to Deerfoot Trail and the downtown core, Memorial Drive is directly accessible to Abbeydale residents, as the traffic vein begins in the community.

There are three bus routes that allow for a 30-minute commute to as far north as Monterrey Park, south as Southview, and east as Marlborough. There are direct bus routes to Marlborough LRT Station, which will facilitate east and westbound access.
