Big Marlborough Park is located at the heart of the community, an 18-hectare city park with open-air green space with seating areas, playgrounds, and paved walkways. Marlborough Park is ten minutes away from Elliston Park. This massive 415-hectare venue offers abundant greenspaces, pathways and trails with seating and seating areas, stormwater retention ponds, two playgrounds designed for children of all ages, a rose garden, and sheltered picnic tables. The beautiful park hosts the Globalfest fireworks competition in August.
Education
Marlborough Park is served by Ronaldo Michener School from kindergarten to grade five and Cappy Smart School, which caters to students from kindergarten to grade six. Dr. Gladys McKelvie Egbert School teaches grades six to nine, with St. Martha Elementary & Junior High School as a Catholic alternative.
For secondary school, Forest Lawn High School offers Advanced Placement university courses, dual credit programs, and off-campus work experience.
Transportation & Accessibility
Four bus lines operate within the community for a 30-minute commute as far north as Taradale, south as the Foothills, and west as the Calgary Zoo. Marlborough Park is easily accessible, located immediately south of the Trans-Canada Highway, with Memorial Drive E to the south of the community. Each route offers a 20-minute commute to the downtown core and major work centres. Stoney Trail is also easily accessible to Marlborough Park, and yields access to all corners of the city.
