Shawnee Slopes is a residential community located in the southwest quadrant of Calgary. It is bounded by Fish Creek Provincial Park to the south, Macleod Trail to the east, James McKevitt Road to the north, and Evergreen Street to the west. The community was named after the Shawnee Native American tribe, known for their hunting, trading, and agricultural skills.

Three bus routes operate within Shawnee Slopes, allowing a 30-minute commute as far north as Alyth-Manchester, and east as Sundance. The Shawnessy CTrain station is located adjacent to the Shawnessy Shopping Centre, which is just a short distance from Shawnee Slopes, providing easy access to downtown Calgary and other parts of the city. Shawnee Slopes is located near major roads and highways, including Macleod Trail and Stoney Trail. This makes it easy for residents to travel by car to other parts of Calgary.
