Silverado is situated south of the communities of Somerset and Bridlewood and is bordered by Sheriff King Street SW to the west, Spruce Meadows Trail SW to the south, and Macleod Trail to the east. The community is named after the famous Silverado Trail in California, known for its scenic beauty and open-aired and expansive green spaces.

Silverado spans a massive 5.1 square kilometres of land, making it one of Calgary's largest communities in terms of area. Silverado was established in 2005, where you will find dwellings to accommodate all budgets. There are two bus lines within the community, allowing a 30-minute commute as far north as Haysboro, east as Sundance, south as Academy, and west as Bridlewood, with the Somerset-Bridlewood LRT Station nearby. The community is located near several major routes, including Macleod Trail, Stoney Trail, and 22X, making it easy for residents to travel to other parts of the city.
