The Area
Established in 1982, Sundance is named after the famous Sundance Kid, a notorious American outlaw from the late 1800s. Sundance has since developed into a warm and vibrant community that offers a variety of amenities and attractions to its residents and visitors. Sundance spans a generous 3.4 square kilometres of land, suitable for an excellent range of dwellings. Many of the homes in Sundance were built in the 1980s and 1990s, but newer homes are also available for those looking for contemporary construction.

Sundance is well-served by The Sundance Lake Residence Association (SLRA), which maintains the upkeep of the community lake. Sundance is located close to several entertainment options. Shawnessy Shopping Centre, within walking distance, hosts over 250 options for retail stores, service providers, restaurants, coffee and dessert, a movie theatre and grocery stores.
Additionally, the community is home to the Shawnessy YMCA and Fish Creek Library, which offers a variety of books, movies, and other media for residents to borrow. Golf lovers of Sundance also enjoy proximity to Blue Devil Golf Club, a stunning 18-hold venue with a mix of open fairways and tree-lined holes, and several water hazards throughout the course.
Parks, Trails & Green Spaces
Sundance is located near several recreational areas, including Fish Creek Provincial Park, Canada's second largest urban park. The venue features over 80 kilometres of walking and biking trails, as well as several picnic areas and a scenic river. The nearby Sikome Aquatic Facility is also a popular destination during the summer months, offering a large outdoor swimming pool and water slides. Sundance is known for its many green spaces and parks. The community features several parks and playgrounds within the community and the immediate area.

Transportation & Accessibility
Sundance is located near several major roads, including Macleod Trail and Stoney Trail, making it easy to access other areas of Calgary. Additionally, the community is serviced by four bus routes that allow a 30-minute commute as far north as Haysboro, east as Seton, and west as Bridlewood. There are also several bike paths in the area, making it easy to bike to nearby destinations.
