The Area

The Woodlands community spans 2.8 square kilometres of land and was established in 1976. Within the locale, you will find an excellent mixture of housing styles, such as traditional bungalows and two-story homes. There are several townhouse developments in Woodlands, which are popular among first-time homebuyers and those looking for affordable and low-maintenance options. While not as common as other housing styles, a few condominium developments also exist in Woodlands.

Woodlands has several recreation facilities, including the Southland Leisure Centre, which offers swimming, skating, and fitness programs. The community also has several sports fields and playgrounds for children to enjoy.

Parks, Trails & Green Spaces

Fish Creek Provincial Park is one of Canada's largest and most prominent natural parks in Woodlands' backyard. The massive venue comprises over 80 kilometres of hiking and biking trails and several picnic areas and fishing spots. Several parks are within the community, including Woodlands Park and Woodbine Park.

Woodlands is well connected to the rest of Calgary by several major roadways, including the Macleod and Stoney Trail. Several bus lines within the community allow a 30-minute commute as far north as Kingsland, east as Lake Bonavista, and south as Somerset.
