Northeast Calgary

Bridgeland-Riverside

Bridgeland-Riverside is a renowned neighbourhood that is deeply interwoven into Calgary's History. Bounded north to south by the Bow River and east to west by Deerfoot Trail and Edmonton Trail, German and Russian immigrants settled the neighbourhood at the beginning of Calgary's first population boom in 1880. Today Bridgeland-Riverside is vibrant, bustling, and highly sought-after area to live!

The Area

As one of Calgary's oldest neighbourhoods, this beautiful northeastern community offers you a combination of quaint and traditional single-family, detached homes, bungalows, duplexes, and stunning, newly renovated luxury homes with a mixture of classic character homes. There are also many multi-family options such as two to three story rowed townhomes, condominiums, and low and high-rise apartments.

Bridgeland-Riverside spans an area of 3.2 square kilometres, and is in a prime locale. You are within walking distance from downtown, with riverside and cityscape views for south-facing properties. As Calgary's 18th most walkable neighbourhood, you will enjoy access to a variety of great amenities, without the need for a vehicle!

Amenities, Attractions, & Entertainment

Bridgeland-Riverside boasts some of the best venues for family activities in the city. The Calgary Zoo is found within the locale, and the 120-acre facility hosts over one thousand different animals and is one of the best in Canada.

You will be a five-minute car ride from the TELUS Spark Science Centre, complete with astronomy and meteorology exhibits, a planetarium, technology in art studios for kids, and much more.

The neighbourhood is served by an active and social community association with programs for members of all ages, from under-three Timbits soccer to seniors clubs. Within the community centre, you will find several halls that can be reserved for events and a rooftop community garden.

You will not have to venture far to find coffee shops, gourmet cake and ice cream shops, gas stations, pharmacies, and restaurants. One of the area's most unique and defining features are the bridges that adjoin the Bow River to the downtown core, which light up and night for some stunning views!

Parks, Trails & Green Spaces

With the Bow River flowing at the community's southern border, you will be treated to riverside trails and views, with the Bow River Pathway right in your backyard.

Murdoch Park sits in the heart of the neighbourhood and offers ample space for exercises and games, equipped playgrounds for kids, and scenic panoramic views. In the winter, the park hosts skating on the rink and tobogganing in the winter.

St. Patrick's Island Park offers thirty-one hectares of hiking and biking trails, a public plaza for picnics, an amphitheater for festivals, a children's play area, and guided nature walks.

Tom Campbell's Hill Natural Park is an eighteen-hectare enclosure with hiking trails, an off-leash area, and serene hillside views of the city skyline.

Education

Bridgeland-Riverside offers you several excellent private and public schools at all levels;

Transportation & Accessibility

There are two bus routes that run through Bridgeland-Riverside, which offer westbound access to the downtown core and beyond. You will be minutes away from the Bridgeland-Memorial LRT Station on the city's Blue Line for east or westbound access. Within 30 minutes, you can reach as far north as Highland Park, as east as Marlborough, south as Alyth, and as west as Rosscarrock.

By car, you will be within 5 minutes of the downtown core, with easy accessibility to the Deerfoot Trail, via Memorial Drive.
