Despite Bel-Aire being only 0.3 square kilometres, the community is entirely comprised of single-family-detached dwellings, with some of the largest lots in the city. The large, luxury homes are complimented by amply spaced front and backyards and mature tree-lined streets, manicured shrubs, trees and lawns.
Established in 1960, Bel-Aire offers riverfront options and impressive million-dollar properties, with stunning, unique, and modern edifices. Naturally, it is one of the safest neighbourhoods within the area, and your neighbours will be other affluent neighbourhoods, such as Windsor Park, Meadowlark Park and Mayfair!
Amenities, Attractions, & Entertainment
Calgary's largest mall, CF Chinook Centre, lies directly east of Bel-Aire, and the megamall offers you an enhanced shopping experience. Within the family-friendly venue, you will find hundreds of retail stores, upscale boutiques, electronic stores, department stores, a movie theatre, dozens of dining options, and much more.

Parks, Trails & Green Spaces
With the beautiful Elbow River spanning Bel-Aire's western border, you are treated to beautiful riverside trails along the Glenmore Pathway, right at you doorstep. Five minutes southwest of Bel-Aire is south Glenmore Park, which boasts 15.1 kilometres of looping paths and walkways with scenic views surrounding the Glenmore Reservoir. The picturesque venue hosts a sheltered picnic area, multiple viewing and resting vantage points, a spray park, and a playground.
Nearby to the reservoir are tennis courts for lessons and matches. The reservoir is enjoyed for kayaking, canoeing, sailing, fishing, and boating lessons in the summer. The park is transformed into an oasis in the winter, with cross-country skiing and snowshoeing available to all!
For public schools, students of Bel-Aire have two options within the vicinity. Elboya School is a combined elementary and junior high school which offers kindergarten to grade nine. There is the option for early and late French immersion training.
For high school, Henry Wise Wood is a nearby option. The school offers career and technology training, dual credit programs, off-campus work experience, the prestigious International Baccalaureate program, and an extensive list of extra-curricular activities.
Several of the city's private schools are also near to Bel-Aire. Rundle Academy, Clear Water Academy, and Calgary Girls Charter School are all within ten minutes. Each school offers an enhanced educational experience with smaller, focused class groups, specialized curriculums, and unmatched facilities.
Mount Royal University is a mere ten minutes away by car, making Bel-Aire an excellent option for families with post-secondary scholars!
Transportation & Accessibility
Various bus lines will allow for a 30-minute commute to as far north as 4th Avenue SW, east as Manchester, south as Southwood, and west as Glamorgan. There are direct lines to the downtown core that will facilitate a 40-minute trip.
Macleod Trail will be your primary route to the downtown core and throughout Calgary. Macleod will allow for a 15-minute commute to the core, with Elbow Drive SW as an alternative. Glenmore Trail SW runs east to west and will facilitate access to Crowchild Trail SW or Deerfoot Trail for access to major work centres.
