It's not broken, we just moved your cheese. It's been just over five years since we've done any major updates to our very popular home search website EdmontonRealEstate.pro. Last time, on December 15, 2015, we had about 5,500 user sessions a day. Lately, we've been averaging about 17,000 user sessions a day. The most traffic we ever saw in one day was 19,803 user sessions on June 30, 2020. So why change things? Especially when we know people love the site, and people hate change. 66% of our traffic is on a mobile device, and the mobile experience on our new site is far superior to the old one. Our new site has been designed "mobile-first" so it works as well on a phone as it does on a desktop. It's designed for speed, and it has a beautiful map-based search. We're certain that people will find it much more user-friendly than the old site. You may be wondering where all the search features that were on the main search bar went?   We've moved almost all of the search filters to the search results page. Just click the "filters" button and a filter menu will appear that will allow you to search for things like "suite," "separate entrance," "foreclosures," "days on site," "price reductions" and many other criteria. Just scroll through and select the options you're looking for; the number of search results update automatically on the top left corner. The ability to search by "separate entrance" is a brand new field from our Association's MLS® System Database which allows you to search for homes with a separate entrance to leads to a suite or potential suite. We've also added a "suite" search, but it should be noted that due to limitations of our database this is not a search for legal suites, but it will search the content of listing descriptions for the word "suite" while excluding things like "ensuite" or "in-suite laundry." The combination of "separate entrance" and "suite" should return a useful set of results for those looking for basement suites, in-law suites, and potential suites. If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, we'd love to hear them! PS - watch for contests this spring for the homepage image; we're going to feature photos that represent our "Love where you Liv" tagline, and there will be prizes for the selected photos. Thanks so much for the suggestion, I'll see if I can get that added back in.

Hi Sara,
I think we are going in the right direction by making the map more accessible for search capabilities. But forcing the map and taking half of the screen for anything we do should be an option. Is there a way to reclaim my screen space to actually look at properties, and no be encumbered by the map which should me nothing but numbers, when I don't need to0 see them?

Thanks!

Hey,
Yes, we are working on getting it so you can move the map out of the way, we've heard that from a number of users. Community search will be added to the search bar soon. Thanks for the suggestions!!

agree with Soul, everything looks squished but I figured out to see communities, there is all communities options and you can click there and see all communities.
